Short version: Some links on FreelancePick are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy something, we earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. These relationships do not affect our reviews, scores, or rankings. We only recommend tools we believe are genuinely useful for freelancers.

What Are Affiliate Links?

An affiliate link is a URL that includes a unique tracking code. When you click that link and take an action (such as signing up for a free trial or purchasing a subscription), the company pays us a referral commission. The commission comes from the company — not from you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the company's website.

How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Reviews

They don't — at least, not in the way you might fear. Here's our policy:

  • ✓We have declined to feature tools that offered affiliate commissions but that we did not believe were good fits for freelancers.
  • ✓Our scores are determined by our review methodology — not by the size of a commission.
  • ✓Tools without affiliate programs (such as Wave, which is free) appear in our reviews alongside affiliate products.
  • ✓We highlight free and low-cost options prominently because we know many freelancers are price-sensitive.
  • ✗We do not accept payment for positive reviews, sponsored rankings, or "pay-to-play" placements.

FTC Compliance

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that websites disclose material connections to companies whose products they review. This page serves as that disclosure. In addition, individual review and comparison pages include short inline disclosures near affiliate links (e.g., "Affiliate link — we may earn a commission").

We do not have affiliate relationships with every company we review. Some reviews are purely editorial with no commercial relationship.
